Genshin ImpactmiHoYoGenshin Impact 1.6 is coming soon, and I figured it was time for a brief rundown of what to expect in this new patch, and when its arriving.That would be Wednesday, June 9, where the patch will go live first in Asia, and then in North America some time after 4 PM, usually, judging by past times. Im still not clear on why miHoYo staggers this by region, but apparently theyre still doing it.As a reminder this is not when the new banner for 5 stars Kazuha goes live. The anemo swordsman is being saved for the second banner, likely two weeks away, and Klee is returning for her first reprisal banner which will launch alongside this update. The rest of the 1.6 patch? A number of updates and events are coming:The Midsummer Island Adventure, the main focus of the patch, will in fact be a series of new islands, and the story quest to take us there will have us sneaking onto Beidous pirate crew, apparently.Once we get to the islands, we will get a boat laden with Klee bombs that can traverse between islands and shoot firebombs at enemies.For the first time, Genshin Impact is debuting character skins. You will be able to earn Barbaras new summer skin as part of an event, but youll have to pay for Jeans new look.Genshin ImpactmiHoYoTheres going to be a new world boss to fight, a giant samurai called Maguu Kenki that may be a part of the main Archon story quest, but should stick around to be a fight we can repeat afterward.We know of two new weapons right now, the Freedom-Sworn Sword, which is Kazuhas signature 5 star weapon, and Mitternacht's Waltz, a 4 star bow. There may be more than have not been confirmed yet.There are a lot of updates coming to the Serenitea Pot system which most pressingly includes a higher load limit so you can build more elaborate homes. So far as we know, Kazuha is the only new hero coming in 1.6. That may change however, as sometimes new ones can slip in at the last rotation of the banner, so well have to wait and see if someone like Ayaka shows up.For now, those are the main events and things coming in 1.6, and when theyll be here. Looks like a pretty substantial update, and Ill be diving back in to check it out after a long while away.
