Grab expands its on-demand bus service
GrabShuttle Plus, a service which allows users to book a shuttle bus between any two bus stops within a particular area in Singapore, has its service unveiled in Sengkang last Friday, 15 December 2017.
The launch comes a month after the trials for the bus service that was taking place in Punggol. The ride-hailing firm Grab has decided to expand its service to the neighbouring district. Many people are currently using the service for first-and-last mile travels to and from Punggol MRT station.
Said Mr James Ong, head of GrabShuttle Singapore, the service has helped reduce overall travelling time for users by as much as 10 percent. According to the experience of a test booking by reporters, the GrabShuttle vehicle showed up within 10 minutes of booking and the ride to the requested destination took less than five minutes.
Grab has launched a couple of new services this year, going beyond its business in the taxi and private-hire cars sector. The ride-hailing firm launched the GrabShuttle service in March this year. Nonetheless, compared to GrabShuttle Plus, the former operates based on fixed routes and timings.
