Driver injured after car crashes into centre railing along PIE

According to an eyewitness of the traffic accident, a black Hyundai Avante appeared to be racing with a white Mitsubishi Evo X that sped past it. The collision occurred with the black Hyundai Avante crashing into a centre guard railing along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) in the wee hours of Monday, 18 December 2017.

The police were alerted to the accident at around 3am. They were told that the collision took place along PIE towards Changi Airport, just before the Eunos flyover.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) dispatched an ambulance to the scene, where which the 33-year-old driver was taken conscious to Changi General Hospital. It is believed that he suffered cuts on his forehead and chin.

An eyewitness by the name of Mr Lim reported that the victim had had “blood coming down from his head” when he stepped out of the car.

The police are currently investigating the incident.
