Kept in “deplorable conditions with no food”, nine cats were involved in a gross case of pet negligence in a Boon Lay flat, which is currently being investigated by the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA).

On 29 December, the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) had been informed of the case, and gone on to report it to various agencies. A video and Facebook post explaining the situation was posted on 9 January.

The flat was in bad shape, and the nine cats were not fed by their owner. A volunteer of CWS had to feed them through a gap in the flat’s window.

The cats were later abandoned in the void deck. None of them are sterilised.

Two of the nine have been adopted by a resident, and the rest were impounded.

AVA is working with CWS to find the seven a new home. Information, which will be kept confidential, regarding the case is welcome - contact the AVA at 1800-476-1600.
