Air conditioner weather to continue for next few days, with temperatures expected to drop to 21°C
With wet weather lasting entire days across this week, Singaporeans can expect (and welcome with open arms) further drops in average temperatures — to as low as 21°C — over the next few days.
In a weather update posted yesterday evening, the National Environment Agency (NEA) announced that the skies over Singapore will be overcast with winds and rain (heavy at times) for the next two days. The daily temperature during this gloomy period is expected to range between 21°C and 27°C, with a 75 percent to 100 percent chance of rain. Last night itself brought a cool 22°C in parts of the country.
Already, last year’s weather and climate review broke a record — the mean annual temperature in 2017 was 27.7°C, even colder than 2016’s 28.4 °C and 28.3 °C, according to the Meteorological Services Singapore. The current chill we’re having, however, is nothing compared to the 19°C recorded on Feb 14, 1989 at Paya Lebar.
