In pics and videos: The rare super blue blood moon spotted in Singapore and across the globe

Despite the wonky wet weather we’ve been experiencing lately, last night’s super blue blood moon prevailed through cloudy skies and rainy conditions. The rare phenomenon — a combination of a blue moon, a supermoon, and a total lunar eclipse — last happened 152 years ago in 1866. Singapore saw the partial eclipse beginning just before 8pm, and the full eclipse around 9pm, ending slightly after 10pm.

In the evening, a crowd of more than 1,000 flocked to the Science Centre, where people queued up to view the moon through the observatory’s 11 telescopes. All across Singapore, netizens were also documenting the spectacle and sharing images on social media.
