Kong Hee & fellow City Harvest convicts will be out of jail between 2018 to 2020

The Court of Appeal has laid down its decision.

The six City Harvest convicts will continue serving the same shortened sentences they were first handed by the High Court.

The judgement was read out in on Thursday morning, Feb. 1, 2018.

A panel of three High Court and two appeal judges decided they agreed that City Harvest founder Kong Hee and his five fellow church leaders as defined in Section 409 of the Penal Code for criminal breach of trust.

As such, here’s a quick rundown of the estimated dates the convicted will be allowed out of jail, provided they are for home detention or given a discount for the remaining third of their sentences — excluding former finance manager Sharon Tan, who serving two-thirds of her reduced seven-month sentence in 2017:

1. Kong Hee

Length of shortened jail term (from High Court): 3 years, 6 months

When he’s likely to be out (for good behaviour): August 20, 2019

2. Tan Ye Peng

3. Serina Wee
