Have some last-minute grocery shopping to do this Chinese New Year?
Skip the scramble of the festive eve and head down to your favourite NTUC FairPrice outlets on the day itself, as the supermarket chain is keeping 138 stores open on the first day (16 Jan).
138 outlets comprise of 90 per cent of NTUC FairPrice outlets, and is the most number of stores the chain has ever opened on the first day of the festival.
Retailers, after all, tend to take at least one day off.
Out of the full number, 106 of the stores will be open till 5pm.
24 of then will be opened for 24 hours, while seven of them will open from 7am to their regular closing times. The NTUC Fairprice at Changi Airport Terminal 3 will keep to its regular hours.
Of course, in the days leading up to Chinese New Year, the hours for certain stores will be extended.
On Thursday (8 Feb), more than half of its stores will open for an additional hour. Meanwhile, on Friday (14 Feb), 20 more stores will open for 24 hours. Normal operating hours will resume on the third day of Chinese New Year.
