Pair of mobile phone thieves in Lucky Plaza arrested possibly involved more thefts
A man and woman have been arrested for stealing a mobile phone from a Lucky Plaza shop on Sunday (3 Feb).
Both the 41-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were found to be involved in a series of thefts.
The man had taken the phone from the shop counter and passed to his female accomplice while the shop attendants were busy.
They left the place shortly after. The shop owner called the police around 9pm, who conducted extensive ground investigations and review of closed circuit camera footage.
The shop owner spotted both suspects again the next day, and called the police. They were then arrested.
Both will be charged in court with the offence of theft in dwelling with common intention. If found guilty, they may be jailed for up to seven years and fined.
