Singapore Police Force gets punny in its warnings to the public about punishable offences
The Singapore Police Force must’ve gotten a comedian or some sort of social media whiz to handle its Facebook account, because it’s been injecting a dose of light-hearted humor into otherwise dull public service announcements about serious offences and their punishments over the weekend.
Naturally, netizens applauded the authority’s punny attempts to engage with millennials, and got on board with more puns of their own.
First, there was the explainer on “wandering fingers” and theft, where the police cautioned the public to “pick anything but pockets”. Heh.
One joker happily responded.
Then there was this pun-tastic post on shop theft, complete with a can of abalone — very on-trend for Chinese New Year.
The viral post got people talking and tossing in a little humor of their own.
But on a serious note, as we all know, crime does not pay.……
