There are people who have been working behind the scenes to help the homeless - and noted activist Gilbert Goh is one of them.

While he has thus far been alone in carrying out his activities of meeting and helping the homeless, on 17 Feb, he posted on Facebook a video of a homeless man, joining him in a new programme - Adopt A Homeless, with the hashtag #poorpeoplecampaign

Goh has been relatively alone in carrying out his charitable activities. However, that has not deterred him at all. Recently, he has started a new programme, Adopt a Homeless, with the hashtag #poorpeople campaign

Adoption is a hefty term and sounds like a huge responsibility, but Goh assures that the duties of the “adopter” aren’t that heavy - volunteers should simply visit their adoptee occasionally and buy them a meal when possible.

“There is no need to give him cash or bring him back to your home,” he wrote.

Along with some details on this particular man and his frequent spots, Goh believes that the homeless elderly deserve to “experience love and warmth” and an “occasional friendly face will surely cheer him up”.
