Love watching football but have nowhere to catch the next World Cup? Worry not, as 55 community clubs around Singapore, as well as Changi Airport, will be broadcasting this year’s FiFA World Cup live.

In an initiative by the People’s Association since 2010, all 64 matches of the world’s biggest football championship will be shown to viewers for free.

In particular, the opening match will be broadcasted on 14 Jun at 11pm at Our Tampines Hub and 40 community clubs.

The rest of the matches will be screened at the 55 locations at their times.

Some clubs are also going one step further to provide related activities, with sports table football (“Subbuteo”) at Pek Kio CC and The Serangoon CC’s football try-outs being examples.

Screening schedules will be available on www.pa.gov.sg and the PAFrenz Facebook page during the week of the first match. For the latest schedules, call the CCs directly. The full list and their contact details can be found here:

The Changi Airport Group (CAG) said that the area will be furnished with soft carpet, football-shaped inflatable seats and cosy lounge chairs.

Want to win some prizes while watching the matches? Visitors can also take their guess at the winning team for each match and stand a chance to win Changi Gift Cards worth up to $300.

At the finals, the prize increases to $1,000 worth of Changi Gift Cards.

Meanwhile, those who are travelling can catch live matches at the television areas in World is Flat (Terminal 1), Experience Zone (Terminal 2), Pret a Manger (Terminal 3) and Herman Miller (Terminal 4). All the aforementioned areas have been given a "football stadium" makeover and the related events will also feature activities such as face painting and caricature art.

This also marks the first time that the FIFA World Cup matches will be screened live in the public area of the airport, as they had previously only been aired in transit. Admission to all Changi Airport screenings are also free!

Excited for the World Cup? Do share the news with like-minded friends and don’t forget to head down on the days to cheer your favourite teams on!
