Ecuador says Britain has guaranteed not to extradite Julian Assange to 'any country where he'd face the death penalty' - and he can LEAVE their London embassy
Ecuador's president says the UK has provided sufficient guarantees for Julian Assange to leave his government's embassy in London.
The WikiLeaks founder has been living under asylum at the embassy since 2012.
'The way has been cleared for Mr Assange to take the decision to leave in near-liberty,' President Lenin Moreno told reporters on Thursday.
It was not immediately clear what Mr Moreno meant by 'near-liberty.'
