14 sworn in to serve Penang Hoteliers Association

DATUK Lim Mee Lee was re-elected as chairman of the Penang Hoteliers Association (PHA) for the period of two years, from 2020 until 2021.

He has been the PHA chairman since 1985. The association was founded in 1957.

Loh Peng Hong, also a long-time member, retained his post as the deputy chairman.

The other 12 members of the PHA elected were Amir Hisham (vice-chairman – newly elected), Foong Hong Beng (vice-chairman), Loh Peng Cheng (secretary – newly elected), Lim Kee Wan (assistant secretary – newly elected), Loke Kheng Pin (assistant secretary – newly elected), Tan Hong Poh (treasurer), Loh Nam Leng (assistant treasurer – newly elected), Michael Fong, Yeoh Soo Kor, Datuk Loo Kay Thye, Tan Eng Hooi (all committee members) and Tony Goh (executive adviser – newly elected).

All the elected members took their oath during the swearing-in ceremony at Cititel Penang last night (Aug 24).

It was held simultaneously with PHA 63rd anniversary dinner.

Lim said the association pledged to continue their best efforts for the hotel industry in Penang.

“We will do our best to help in the recovery and rebound of the hotel industry in the state.

“And for all our members, we urge you to be careful and consistent in implementing the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Federal Government. This is important to ensure the health and safety of all our guests.
