Proud owner of a LG V40 since last 3 years. It has performed like a real champ.LG v40 is the 1 of d best of the year. Very nice phone I'm using the G8X everyday for music and camera and overall, its something no other phone can replace.Take a Samsung/Apple/any phone 4 times higher priced and still LG is better.507AMS, 5 hours ago...when you became a "brand loyalist" the common sense and the need to get more for ... moreActually the smart ones want phones that work and not marketing hyped Android phones that are unsupported after 3 months.Ai, 6 hours agoI dont understand why big notch is an issue for some people? And why it becomes a measure of c... more...when you became a "brand loyalist" the common sense and the need to get more for your bucks dissapears!!!!!!!Samsung & Apple brands are about to be recognized in a "higher social status"....when you buy their products you are more "social attractive"...The smart buyers does not get attracted by those false lights!!!!!! Ai, 6 hours agoI dont understand why big notch is an issue for some people? And why it becomes a measure of c... moreHole is worse than notch. At least androids with notch had option to make a fake bezel. LG had much more contribuitions than samsung and xiaomi. Samsung copies other, advertise as something new and media praises it. I dont understand why big notch is an issue for some people? And why it becomes a measure of comparison.Iphone has huge notch design and people still buys them.joe nodden, 7 hours agoThat would imply the V30 was no better than the G5.the V30 got no problems in terms of technology...with the LG G5 otherwise LG placed bets on modular phones and was a big disaster...they never recovered from that!!!!!Currently, I am using V40 for the last 3 years.CopyX1982, 9 hours agoBiggest problem here in the UK? You couldn't actually buy LG phones unless you imported? ... moreThe LG V60 was officially released only in select markets, which include: USA, Canada, Taiwan and Japan.See, NOT EVEN SOUTH KOREA (their home turf) is included!Still have my LG G5 and it works well as a multimedia player. The speaker is excellent. But battery life is atrocious and GPS does get glitchy. Software also got laggy after only a few years when it was buttery smooth when I first got it. It's that outdated eMMC. Snapdragon 845 is still a a good chip that this V40 has. I'm using my Pixel 3 again which has the same chip and it's smooth after 4 years. Decided I'm selling my Razr 5G but will keep my Flip 3. I hate the 765G. Comparable to a 835, it lags after a few days every time. Gets annoying. Only flagship Snapdragons for me. Will wait for the Razr 3 with Snap 8 Gen 1.507AMS, 7 hours agonop, the LG G5 was the starting road to his end!!!!!The V series were not really a problem... moreThat would imply the V30 was no better than the G5.Anonymous, 14 hours agoLG V30 was one of the best phones ever made. I assume it can still be used without problems today.I'm replying to your comment with my LG V30 right now and it still works flawlessly since the day I purchased it, which was at launch. The same goes for my wife's V30. Probably the best Android phone ever made. joe nodden, 8 hours agoThis garbage was the beginning of the end. nop, the LG G5 was the starting road to his end!!!!!The V series were not really a problem in terms of tech involved. The problem with LG was poor marketing (the not so well received "small target consumers marketing" products) and poor software updates support....I loved every LG phone I owned (G3, G5, V20) but those product never got the audience's full attention......This garbage was the beginning of the end. And now we have a saturated market with Chinese phones with useless cameras and way too much models. Anonymous, 11 hours agoNokia 6, 7 Plus and few more are made in a collaboration with Foxcon, latter and recent phones... moreYes, many HMD phones are ODM. 7+ was made by FIH. All assembled at Foxconn. I still kept my V40, V30, V20, G6 and G8s ... All those phones still functioning and usable .. and the problem with V40 is battery life and probably that notch when it predecessor V30 have a great design. The last 3-5 years have seen a slight saturation of smartphone camera quality, mostly due to extremely minor improvements in hardware, and even more minor tweaks to the Computational Photography Algorithms. While Snapdragon, Mediatek and Exynos have allowed for upto 18-bit RAW, on their latest ISPs and CPUs, this wouldn't really help without some radical improvements in sensor technology, not just upressing and up-bitressing of imaging via HDR. They should have created 14-bit smartphone image sensors with improvements in the Quad Pixel/ Tetracell CFA. And even faster readout, and even more frame to work with.
