COMMENTARY: When the Ministry of Education (MOE) first announced that it would be removing examinations for students in lower primary school, and mid-year exams in Primary 3 and 5 and Sec 1 and 3, Eveline Gan was sceptical. After all, how would she know if her daughters were keeping up in school?

The mother-of-two writes about how she has since come to realise that shifting the focus away from exams has allowed her younger daughter to have a very different — and more enjoyable — experience with learning than her older daughter had.
