She has worked with the legendary French musician Michel Legrand and legendary jazz musicians Clark Terry, Johnny Griffin and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra among others.

Her latest album, “Laura Goes East”, which was released in 2020, has already achieved millions of livestreams on various platforms. The producer and music director for the album is Jazz Association (Singapore) (JASS) Executive Director and Music Director Jeremy Monteiro.

For her illustrious and successful 33-year career, Laura Fygi was appointed the Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau in 2022 by His Majesty King Williem-Alexander of The Netherlands.

JASSO, in its short history of 5 years has already performed at the EFG London Jazz Festival, The Shanghai JZ Festival and the Jazz Education Network (JEN) Conference in Reno, Nevada where it received the Outstanding Performance Award at its debut performance in 2019.

JASSO, who is accompanying Laura, comprises top Singapore jazz professional musicians including Jeremy Monteiro, JASS Associate Music Director and pianist Chok Kerong, Shawn Letts (saxophone), Julian Chan (saxophone), Leo Jeo (trombone), Tama Goh (drums and who has also often worked with Laura), guest musicians Eddie Wen (trumpet) and guest principal trumpeter, Tom Walsh, who is amongst the best lead trumpet players in the world.

Laura will perform her big band hits such as “S’wonderful”, “I Will Wait for You” and “Almost Like Being in Love”. JASSO will feature on a few instrumental tunes as well including Monteiro’s “Mount Olive” and Chok Kerong’s “Taking Flight”.

This is the second time Laura Fygi has performed alongside JASSO. The first was during the JASS Benefit Gala in 2021 which raised more than S$660,000 for the arts charity.
