Growing up in Munich, for any football-crazed kid, the ultimate dream is to don the hallowed Bayern Munich strip. For Karim Adeyemi, that dream was a reality by the age of eight after being quickly snapped by the German giants. However, his stint with the Bavarian outfit was short-lived.After missing training sessions and arriving late to practises, Adeyemi was released from the club at the age of 11. Things have worked out for the better in the years since leaving Bayern and Adeyemi has established himself as one of Europe's most exciting young talents even scoring on his debut for the German senior national team earlier this month and attracting the interest of Liverpool. Adeyemi showed just why he is being eyed-up by the club with a scintillating performance against Sevilla midweek in the Champions League, winning three penalties in that game.Read MoreRelated ArticlesRead MoreRelated ArticlesThe nature of his pressing, and rapid explosive ability to latch onto balls, made him a nuisance throughout the match. The 19-year-old exhibited characteristics that are tailor-made for Jürgen Klopp's system at Liverpool. And while Salzburg's 30m (£26m) asking price is enticing, Liverpool will face a difficult obstacle in order to land the young forward who has been on the club's radar since he was 16 years old.Adeyemi's former coach at Unterhaching revealed to First Time Finish that the youngster favoured a move to Red Bull Salzburg over the interest of other teams (including Liverpool) back in 2018, because of Salzburg's proximity to Munich. "Karim had several options when he left us," he said. "Of course, he asked us for advice on what we thought, but he decided on his own with his family. The decisive factor was certainly the proximity to Munich."In an interview with Transfermarkt last year, Adeyemi did not rule out the possibility of returning to Bayern. "I don't hold grudges against Bayern," the forward explained. "We just decided for that step back then. If Bayern makes an offer that fits me and I feel comfortable with it, I would choose that route. It depends on how the offer would look like."Read MoreRelated ArticlesRead MoreRelated ArticlesBayern Munich have been reported to hold an interest in Adeyemi alongside Liverpool and Barcelona. Given his upbringing in Munich, and his past history with Bayern, Adeyemi may find it difficult to reject the German giants. Liverpool will likely have to offer an extremely alluring proposition to Adeyemi in order to land the young striker; one that he simply cannot reject. They will be encouraged by the fact that Adeyemi was only 16 when he moved away from Munich for the first time. At 19, he is older and wiser and may be more open to a switch to England. The fact that competition for places in attack is stiff at Bayern with Robert Lewandowski, Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané, Thomas Müller and Kingsley Coman potentially all standing in Adeyemi's way, may also give Liverpool the edge.Only time will tell where Liverpool stand. But this deal may not be entirely in the club's hands. Read MoreRelated ArticlesRead MoreRelated Articles
