Maserati driver in alleged hit-and-run with traffic cop faces additional charges
The Maserati driver who allegedly caused a hit-and-run accident that injured a Traffic Police (TP) officer appeared in court again on Thursday (28 December) to face 15 additional charges.
Lee Cheng Yan, 34, had previously been charged with committing a rash act that caused grievous hurt and driving whilst disqualified in relation to the 17 November incident.
According to Deputy Public Prosecutor Quek Jing Feng, most of the new charges are traffic-related, but also include obstruction of justice charges. The new charges include driving without motor insurance and failing to stop when ordered by the TP.
Quek applied for the bail amount to be increased, saying Lee’s multiple additional charges were serious enough to warrant it. Lee’s passport will also be impounded.……
