SINGAPORE - More than $15,000 have been lost to scammers who falsely advertised the sale of crabs priced as low as $9.99.
In these cases, several victims came across pop-up advertisements on the Internet and social media platforms offering cheap deals on crabs, sent from a restaurant known as "Crabber Resto" or "Jack Crab Resto," police said in a statement on Tuesday (July 27).

Scammers are very clever but people just don't realise it until they fall prey to these predators. It is a welcome reminder to us that when the bait is too attractive to ignore the danger of being scam is equally high. 😊

such incidences/scams will continue to happen no matter how much awareness is publicised. S'poreans are too used to "certain costly items" and when this goes on hefty discounts, the bait is immediately taken!
