Su Bushby described her partner Sgt Matiu Ratana as a ‘gentle giant’

The partner of a murdered Met Police sergeant has paid tribute to his ‘infectious smile and big heart’ as she described him as her ‘gentle giant’.

Sgt Matiu Ratana, 54, known as Matt, was shot by a handcuffed man at Croydon Custody Centre during the early hours of Friday and later died in hospital. Su Bushby was in a relationship with him for five years.
