In his latest column with Metro.co.uk, the British boxing legend assesses what is next for Canelo, Joshua Buatsi’s latest test and a big night for Fightzone in Malta.

For Canelo, it’s all about legacy now

I don’t think there is anyone out there who can trouble Canelo, I really don’t. And even if he does make the move up to light heavyweight again that would be the case too.

Obviously if the fight against Caleb Plant to unify the division can be made to get all the belts that will be his first priority, and there are not too many in history who have done that. And that is what Canelo will be trying to do here, build his legacy further with history fights.

But I can’t see anyone beating him. When you think back to what Floyd did to him when he stood him on his head, he created a monster that night!

I’d like to see the third Gennady Golviokin fight myself. How can that be anything other than a barnstormer given what we’ve seen them do in the past? Let him try and unify and then maybe take the trilogy fight with Golovkin, then move up and become world champion at light-heavyweight again? I think that could be the road he will want to take.
