Talks have reportedly commenced with Manchester United for one of their stars but they surround a move that the player in question was previously stated as being not keen on.United have kept pace with the other top Premier League sides in the transfer market in what has been a frantic summer window. Chelsea have signed Romelu Lukaku for nearly £100m, Manchester City splashed out the nine-figure sum on Jack Grealish, whilst the Red Devils’ marquee move has been the £73m acquisition of Jadon Sancho.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally landed his man. But Sancho’s arrival has pushed the main signing of last summer, Amad Diallo, further down the pecking order.Diallo, 19, didn’t arrive in England until the January window due to work permit issues. Eight United appearances later and he is set for a loan move away from Old Trafford.Boss Solskjaer has offered reassurance that the Ivory Coast international is firmly in the club’s plans for years to come. However, it won’t have been the start to life in Manchester that Diallo would have been hoping for after departing Atalanta.Three potential suitors emerged in Swiss side Basel, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United. Only one of those was suitable to the youngster, though. That’s because, according to Fabrizio Romano, he wants Premier League football, something which only Palace can offer. It seems like his club are not on the same page. Football Insider’s sources have said that Sheffield United have opened talks.Discussions are said to be underway for a season-long loan deal.Diallo’s wishes for top flight English football appear to have been disregarded in favour of United’s desire to get him regular football. That is something he is more likely to receive in the Championship than at the Eagles. Manager Patrick Viera already has Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze and new boy Michael Olise at his disposal.Meanwhile, a report has claimed Diallo’s United teammate Jesse Lingard will reluctantly push to leave the club. That’s if Solskjaer overlooks him for Sundays Premier League clash at Southampton.Lingard enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with West Ham in the second half of last season, scoring nine goals. He has been a target for the club ever since as they aim to build upon last seasons sixth-place finish. Indeed, first-team coach Stuart Pearce recently opened up on the open secret of their intention to bring Lingard back.Much of their chances, however, depend entirely on his situation at Manchester United. A Warrington-lad, Lingard has a lifetime affinity with the club. Therefore, he would be reluctant to leave – but it is not out of the question…READ MORE: Jesse Lingard lays down Solskjaer gauntlet as Man Utd transfer verdict nears
