Xiaomi has launched two new products in the Indian market today the Redmi Note 10S smartphone and the Redmi Watch. While the Redmi Note 10S launched globally back in March, the Redmi Watch was first unveiled in China last November.Redmi Note 10SThe Redmi Note 10S is the latest addition to the Redmi Note 10 series, which is comprised of the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and the Redmi Note 10. The Redmi Note 10S sports a quad-camera setup consisting of a 64 MP primary camera (1/1.97", 0.7m, f/1.79), 8 MP ultra-wide (1/4", 1.12m, f/2.2), 2 MP macro (1/5", 1.12m, f/2.4, 4 cm) with 2x zoom, and a 2 MP depth sensor (1/5", 1.75m, f/2.4). A 13 MP in-display selfie camera featuring an f/2.45 aperture with 1.12-micron pixel size completes the imaging features of the device.Xiaomi has endowed the Redmi Note 10S with a capable 6.43-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display that features a 1,100-nit peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The company said that the display has a 180 Hz touch sampling rate to reduce input lag. However, the screen refresh rate continues to be 60 Hz. Protecting the display is a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Powering the Redmi Note 10S is a MediaTek Helios G95 chipset with the CPU cores clocked up to 2.05 GHz and a Mali G76 GPU clocked at 900 MHz. The Heliod G95 is paired with 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. A 5,000 mAh battery powers the device; a 33 W fast charger is included in the box as well. Other features include the usual assortment of sensors along with an IR Blaster, Wi-Fi 5 with Bluetooth 5, USB Type-C with OTG function, dual stereo speakers, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is IP53-rated for protection from dust and water ingress and is the first Xiaomi device in India to run an early version of MIUI 12.5 out-of-the-box.The Redmi Note 10S will be available across Mi.com, Amazon.in, and offline Mi stores from 18 May 12 PM IST. The device will be available in Deep Sea Blue, Frost White, and Shadow Black color options for 14,999 (US$204) for the 6 GB + 64 GB variant and 15,999 (US$217) for the 6 GB + 128 GB variant.Redmi WatchAlongside the Redmi Note 10S, Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi Watch for the Indian market. The Redmi Watch is essentially the Mi Watch Lite but with a brighter display at 480 nits. The Mi Watch Lite sports a square dial and is primarily made of plastic. Xiaomi rates the watch to be water resistant for up to 5 ATM of pressure. Though the TPU strap is user-replaceable, it uses a proprietary connecting design which limits the use of third-party straps.A 230 mAh battery powers the Redmi Watch, and Xiaomi says up to 10 days of battery life can be expected from it. Like many other smartwatches such as the Amazfit T-Rex or the OnePlus Watch, the Redmi Watch runs on RTOS and can be paired with Android and iOS devices via the Xiaomi Wear Lite app. While the smartwatch is endowed with built-in GPS, compass, barometer, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and 11 types of workouts , it does not offer an SpO2 sensor. Accuracy issues apart, it feels like Xiaomi missed out on the opportunity to include an SpO2 sensor considering the times we live in.The Redmi Watch will be available in Ivory, Black, and Blue color options (the strap will be available in Olive additionally) starting May 25 across Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Homes and Studios stores for 3,999 (US$54).Buy the Redmi Note 10 on Amazon IndiaXiaomi Press Release
