KUALA LUMPUR: A heartwarming video of a boy reluctant to leave his Indian babysitter has touched millions online, showing their strong bond.

The 34-second clip, shared by TikTok user @shidaabdul_, has gone viral with over 3.3 million views and 200,000 likes.

In the video, the toddler repeatedly chooses to stay with his babysitter even as his parents try to take him home.

"Taking over amma's shift. If birth certificates could have two mothers' names, I would have added hers a long time ago," @shidaabdul_ captioned the video.

She revealed that her neighbour has been babysitting her son since she completed her confinement period, adding that her son can now even speak Tamil.

Netizens praised the babysitter, saying it proves that love transcends race and background.

Many shared similar experiences of forming strong bonds with babysitters from different ethnic backgrounds.

"My mum used to babysit our Malay neighbour's child. We grew up like siblings. When they moved away, I would stay at their house during the school holidays. He was fluent in Tamil, and I was fluent in Malay," said @ravisanthini.

"The person who used to babysit me was also Indian. Even after we moved to Kedah, they would pick me up during the school holidays and take me back to Ipoh to stay with them," shared @yunnae_unni.
