He said the case has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

"We are investigating the motive for the shooting."

The New Straits Times has seen videos of the shooting.

In a 28-second video clip, five suspects — believed to be men, some wearing helmets and masks — can be seen running towards the two victims who were about to get into a car. This is believed to have occurred about 12.15am.

The suspects fired several shots at one victim who was behind a car. The other victim was shot as he was about to get into the same car.

That second victim collapsed by the red car.

In the video footage, the suspects can be seen lingering at the scene for at least 22 seconds, suggesting that they were trying to ensure the victims were dead.

All the suspects then fled the scene in a red car.

People with information on the case should contact Cheras police at 03-9284 5050 or 03-9284 5051 or the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-2115 9999.
