[UPDATED] Police name new chiefs for Penang, Selangor, KL, Kedah and Johor
KUALA LUMPUR: Five senior officers have been appointed as new state police chiefs in the latest reshuffle exercise announced by the police.
The changes, effective Aug 18, will see Datuk Azizee Ismail appointed as the new Penang police chief.
Azizee, currently the Deputy Director of Management (Administration) at Bukit Aman with the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, will be promoted to Commissioner of Police.
Kuala Lumpur Police College Commandant Datuk Shazeli Kahar has been named Selangor police chief.

He also receives a promotion to the rank of Commissioner.
Meanwhile, Datuk Fadil Marsus has been promoted to lead the Kuala Lumpur police contingent.
He is currently the Intelligence/Operations deputy director at the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Datuk Adzli Abu Shah, who serves as Kedah deputy police chief, has been promoted to head the state as its new chief, while Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad has been named Johor police chief.
Ab Rahaman is currently the Deputy Director of Management (Service/Position) at Bukit Aman.
All five officers will assume their new positions with the rank of Commissioner as part of the leadership restructuring across key state commands.
The reshuffle also involved several senior officers taking on new roles at the federal level and in training institutions, according to an official statement issued by Secretary of Police Datuk Kamaruzaman Abdullah.
A total of 23 transfers and appointments were announced.
Among them is Bukit Aman IGP Secretariat Head of Licensing (Firearms Licensing) Datuk Md Nazri Zawawi.
He has been appointed Bukit Aman Management (Service/Position) Deputy Director, with the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Bukit Aman Management (Administration) Chief Assistant Director Datuk Mohd Sukri Kaman has been named the new Intelligence/Operations Deputy Director at the CID, also with the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Meanwhile, Dr Che Ghazali Che Awang, who is currently Commander of the Sarawak Brigade, General Operations Force (GOF), has been made Commandant of the Police College in Kuala Lumpur.
He, too, assumes the role with the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
All transfers and promotions will take effect on Aug 18.
