Each gardener will have their preferred shade, and for those who prize blue hydrangeas above all else, there's a neat trick that can be used to turn your pink flowers blue. The reason for the different colours is the pH level of the soil they grow in. If you make a slight change to the soil, it will encourage the flower to turn blue. By adding coffee grounds to the substrate, it will make it more acidic, which is needed for the beautiful blue bloom.
