Kelley Mack, who is best known for her role in the hit series The Walking Dead, has died following a battle with glioma of the central nervous system, a rare form of cancer. She was 33.

Using Mack’s personal Instagram, her sister Kathryn confirmed the actress’s death on Wednesday, sharing that the latter was surrounded by her loved ones during her final days.

“It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go,” began the statement.

“Kelley passed peacefully on Saturday evening with her loving mother, Kristen, and steadfast aunt, Karen, present. Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies. She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express,” it continued.

Kathryn added that her sister’s life will be honoured through a memorial service in Cincinnati on Aug 16, to be followed by another service to be held in Los Angeles at a later date.

“She would want you all to know how much she loves you. And as her sister, I want you all to know how brave that tough SOB was, especially when she decided to make the leap to be reunited with God. I’m so freaking proud of her,” concluded the statement.

Kelley Mack starred as Addy in Season Nine of the post-apocalyptic horror drama The Walking Dead, which ran for 11 seasons, beginning in 2010 until its final episode in 2022.

The late actress also appeared in Season Eight of Chicago Med, 9-1-1, and the Modern Family spinoff Schooled, among others.

She also held roles in the movies Broadcast Signal Intrusion and Delicate Arch, as well as a few other miniseries. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network
