LONDON, Oct 17 — Prime Minister Keir Starmer said yesterday the plan to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending a Europa League match at Aston Villa was the “wrong choice” after police advised the club no away fans could be at the game due to security concerns.

“This is the wrong decision. We will not tolerate antisemitism on our streets. The role of the police is to ensure all football fans can enjoy the game, without fear of violence or intimidation,” Starmer wrote on X.
