Well said. My time was ONLY $95!!! Mac came to S'pore in 1979, Liat Towers. Then hamburger $0.95¢; Big Mac $3.05. So, according to OP if both prices r now say tripled due to his calculation of inflation, the BMT pay now should be $95 x 3. But it's $750 now for 3 mths n more after. It's like saying 70's a bowl of noodles=0.50¢, now $4.50; therefore the salaries of those workers in the 70's should be multiply by 9!!! Hope one day he become our Manpower Minister, then all S'poreans will be rich.🤣

You guys now should be content that you are getting such an allowance compared to those in the past.... National Service is to train and be sure that we Singaporeans are prepared for any threats around our region!!!! And to teach you guys the importance and be vigilant..... You can ask anyone born in the 60s.... Personal opinion. 🤭🤭🤭

Who says NSF is paid salary? Hello it's just an allowance given for taking public transport and pocket money. If not enough, you can ask your grandmother.

NS is a service to the nation and not a working salary. Your $750 allowance is way more than what we get at our times. Most NS man stayed in camp and most of their needs are already provided for like your meal as well as most of the equipment that u need. if u spend prudently over the weekend, this allowance is definately more than enough for the 8 weekends. Please do not compare this with a working salary. Do ur best for the 2 years and after you ORD then u go and earn more outside.
