It seems all the recent jet-setting has taken a toll on Mandopop king Jay Chou.

Just ahead of his three-night Carnival tour stop in Hong Kong on June 27, the Taiwanese singer surprised fans with a sudden health update: he’s taking a break.

“I’m going crazy!” Jay, 46, posted on Instagram yesterday (Jun 12), revealing that just as he was recovering from a persistent headache, he was hit with a cold.

“Gonna take a break for a bit,” he said. “Colds are so annoying. Hope I get well before the concert.”

Jay’s been on the move ever since wrapping up his April concert in Nanning.

He accompanied wife Hannah Quinlivan to Japan for work, went sightseeing around Tokyo and Kyoto with Japanese heartthrob Tomohisa Yamashita and still managed to drop new single ‘Improvisation’ earlier this month.

With his schedule packed to the brim, it's little wonder Jay’s health took a hit.

Here’s hoping this break gives him a chance to recharge before hitting the stage again.
