'Go ahead, arrest me': Motorcyclist abuses RTD officers after fine

SHAH ALAM: A motorcyclist fined during a Road Transport Department (RTD) operation verbally abused officers and challenged them to arrest him.

The man, who was among 148 motorists fined at the Kemuning Toll Plaza on the Shah Alam Expressway yesterday, continued to rage despite attempts to calm him down, according to Selangor RTD director Azrin Borhan.

Azrin said that among the 580 vehicles inspected, the most common offence was driving without a licence, with 76 summonses issued.

Other violations included expired Motor Vehicle Licences (51), no vehicle insurance (49), no Goods Driving Licence (eight), and altered registration numbers (eight).

"In this operation, we seized eight motorcycles and four cars, issued 13 Inspection Notices, and eight Vehicle Use Prohibition Notices," he said at a press conference at the scene.

He added that the majority of motorists with expired road tax claimed they forgot to renew their licences.

Meanwhile, the Petaling National Anti-Drug Agency, which also took part in the operation, arrested three local men, aged between 30 and 40, who tested positive for methamphetamine.
