A Ukrainian high-jumper's mother has been killed in a Russian airstrike on the city of Kharkiv overnight, with the heartbroken athlete paying tribute to her today. 

Kateryna Tabashnyk, 28, revealed her mother was one of at least 11 civilians who died in two blasts which hit residential areas of Kharkiv overnight, leaving another 40 wounded in one of the deadliest nights of bombing since the war began.
