The European Union has maintained a neutral position over the ongoing trade war between the US and China which was further exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic. While the EU has maintained critical of Beijing over human rights and the treatment of minorities, the bloc has continued to maintain a good relationship with China. But one of Germany's leading businessmen has now warned Brussels it must decide whether to remain closely allied to the US or if it wants to pivot to a more China-friendly stance.
