To accept, or not to accept?
Several cashiers in in Bukit Timah were recently left puzzled after a man tried to pay for his items with a unusual-looking coin — the new commemorative $10 coin marking the 100th birth anniversary of Singapore's founding prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.
35-year-old personal finance content creator Seth Wee, who goes by Sethisfy, took to TikTok on Sunday (Sept 17) to share his experience of trying to use the shiny new coin at several stores such as Starbucks and 7-Eleven.

That $10 coin is supposedly to be commemorating 100 years of lky. It's definitely not $10 when you paid for it. Then I wonder why it is being used as a $10 coin for the purchaser would really be making a loss in going so. This is not the first time that commemorative coins are issued but only that it is the first time that commemorative coin is used as a medium of payment. Maybe lky is not that memorable after all by not being put as a keepsake.

This guy acts stupid. This coin is to keep as souvenir not for making purchases. He thinks it is very funny.
