(7 September 2025) A Gift of Life: Through Stories and Art – An Event to Celebrate World Marrow Donor Day
The Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP), in collaboration with the National Library Board (NLB), will be holding a special event to mark World Marrow Donor Day. Titled A Gift of Life: Through Stories and Art, the session invites families to take part in meaningful activities that celebrate courage, kindness, and the gift of life.
On 7 September, from 1 pm to 3 pm, families can look forward to an engaging programme at the library:
Storytelling session: Children will enjoy the heartwarming reading of BMDP’s original storybook, filled with themes of kindness, courage, and hope.
Arts and crafts: Kids can join a hands-on session by decorating faux cakes for the global Cake-Off, a creative way to honour marrow donors worldwide.
Meet Olly the owl mascot: Families can snap photos with BMDP’s friendly mascot while learning about the importance of giving back.
Donor engagement: Attendees will also hear about how bone marrow donors save lives and why their selfless gift makes a difference.
This programme is designed for children aged 3 and above and offers parents a chance to spark conversations about empathy and giving hope to others, while their little ones enjoy stories and creative play.
