Ringgit weakens to nearly three-year low

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 4): The ringgit had continued to weaken against the US dollar to nearly a three-year low of 4.2203 just yesterday due to the ongoing Sino-US trade war as well as the weaker renminbi.

At the time of writing, the ringgit has strengthened slightly to 4.2110 against the greenback. Today, it was traded between 4.209 and 4.2175. Over the past 12 months, the local currency was traded above the 4.0 level between 4.0545 and 4.2280.
