MMEA foils attempt to smuggle syabu worth RM700,000

PORT KLANG: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) yesterday foiled an attempt to smuggle RM700,000 worth of syabu, believed to have originated from a foreign country and intended for sale elsewhere, with Malaysia used as a transit point.
In the incident which took place at about 5.30pm along the shores of Batu Laut, Tanjung Sepat, a maritime team which was patrolling the waters in the area, had come across a Proton Saga car parked near the shore, with a man standing by the vehicle and behaving suspiciously.
