Water supply rationing will be implemented in Johor and Malacca on a rotational basis.

The National Water Services Commission (Span) said that the water rationing is a direct result of a prolonged lack of rainfall since March, which has resulted in low water levels at river and dams.

In a statement today, Span said that Ranhill SAJ Sdn Bhd (SAJ), the exclusive provider of source-to-tap water in Johor, and Syarikat Air Melaka Bhd had both submitted applications to implement scheduled water supply in affected areas.
