Jakarta to allocate Rp 619 bn development fund for satellite cities

The Jakarta administration planned to allocate Rp 618.9 billion (US$43.5 million) in development funding for its satellite cities next year, it announced last week during its deliberation of the 2020 budget priorities and preliminary threshold (KUA-PPAS) with the Jakarta City Council. The funding is to be allocated to eight municipalities and regencies in West Java and Banten: Bekasi municipality, Bekasi regency, Bogor municipality, Bogor regency, Cianjur regency and Depok municipality in West Java, and Tangerang municipality and Tangerang regency in Banten. Jakarta Governance Bureau head Premi Lasari said that the funding was for regional programs that supported the capital’s medium-term development plan (RPJMD).
