Govt tables first reading of bill to set up Anti-Financial Crime Centre

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 8): The government has tabled the first reading of the National Anti-Financial Crime Centre Bill 2019.
Speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby, Prime Minister's Department Minister (Law) Datuk Liew Vui Keong said the bill was part of the National Anti-Corruption Plan 2019-2023.
"The centre seeks to coordinate the efforts of 12 existing enforcement agencies, among others, the Royal Malaysian Police, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, the Royal Malaysian Customs Department and also Bank Negara in preventing and combating financial crimes, both domestically and internationally," the minister said.
