New law to protect doctors from attacks in China not enough: Experts

BEIJING - China has passed a new law aimed at protecting medical staff from threats and violence, but many have expressed scepticism over whether this will tackle the problem of yi nao (medical disturbances), given deep-seated issues with the country's healthcare system.

The healthcare law, passed on Saturday (Dec 28), stated that the personal safety and dignity of medical workers must not be infringed upon, while enshrining their legitimate rights.
