Media night filled with cultural activities
CHEER was in the air at the annual Hunza Group Media Appreciation Night this year. The event with a retro Shanghai theme drew 100 guests, many dressed in colourful traditional Chinese costumes. Guests tucked into a sumptuous eight-course dinner, took part in games and were rewarded with lucky draw prizes. They were also entertained with music. Calligraphy artists were present to paint auspicious messages on cloth fans for guests while Chinese paper-cutting artist Zhu Man Ha, who has over 70 years of experience in the craft, brought along a masterpiece depicting 2,008 plum blossoms to the event. Star Media Group client brand marketing team lead Andy Tan walked away with prizes after emerging as best-dressed male of the event held at Jade Palace Restaurant in Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang. Hunza Group founder Datuk Seri Khor Teng Tong, in his speech, said the mall recorded a double-digit growth in footfall count last year. He added that several notable brands such as Haidilao and Ralph Lauren were brought in. He also said the group’s active developments, namely TreeO, Muze@PICC, Alila2 and Bandar Putra Bertam, were seeing overwhelming response. “The TreeO affordable homes under the government’s initiative are targetted at white-collar workers and fresh graduates to help them own their first home. “Compared with the open market, the selling prices of the TreeO affordable homes are between RM150,000 and RM200,000 lower. “We urge buyers who are eligible under the initiative to take advantage of the incentive to purchase their first home soon,” he said during the event recently. Also present at the media appreciation party were Hunza Group managing director Datuk Khor Siang Gin and Star Media Group client brand marketing general manager Simone Liong.
