Unimas mulls aquaculture production initiative

KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) is looking to set up an aquaculture production centre here to assist the state in producing freshwater fish and freshwater prawns (udang galah), says its Faculty of Resource Science and Technology lecturer Dr Mohammad Bodrul Munir.
According to him, the university will be collaborating with Borneo Aquaculture, a subsidiary of Borneo Empurau Farm, to develop this initiative.
“Borneo Empurau Farm has a practical hatchery and they have offered to work together with us particularly through sharing of knowledge.
