It's been two years since BMW let us know about the 2021 BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformanceplug-in hybrid crossover, which has evolved from the X5 xDrive40e, the first BMW to adopt the iPerformance tag. BMWBlog says it got word of the price, the X5 xDrive45e reported to start at $65,400 when order books open this summer, which turns into $66,395 after BMW's $995 handing and destination charge. That makes the plug-in $4,300 more than the non-electrified X5 xDrive40i, and almost $11,000 less than the twin-turbo V8-powered X5 xDrive50i. Far more important, the price is only $1,650 more than the xDrive40e to get a lot more in return.
