An eclipsewill darken the skies this weekend when the Sun and the Moon cross paths and form a ring of fire effect. On Sunday, June 21, the Moon will pass in front of the Sun, blotting out all but the glowing edges of the star. This type of solar eclipse is known as an annular eclipse because the Moon will be farther from Earth and appear smaller than usual.
