Richard Hammond wrote off his car in the brand new special The Grand Tour presents: A Massive Hunt and we’re feeling a major sense of déjà vu.
The long-awaited episode wasreleased a day early and saw the presenter forced to abandon his vehicle as he raced his co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James May across the unpredictable Madagascan terrain.
Driving a modified Ford Focus RS, Richard quickly racked up a mountain of issues, but it wasn’t until he was challenged to make his way across a rocky path in the dark where he was forced to give up altogether as his car broke down.
‘Oh sh*t, my clutch has just gone,’ Richard panicked. ‘I don’t have a clutch. My pedal is stuck down.
‘F*ck. I can’t mend a clutch. A clutch is a clutch and I haven’t got a spare one. It is finished. It’s dead.’
He later added: ‘This was the first time ever we had lost a car on one of our adventures.’
