Health Ministry: 2,154 new cases for 310,097 total, six fatalities bring death toll to 1,159

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 2,154 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (March 5), bringing the cumulative total to 310,097.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 794, followed by Johor with 463.
In a tweet, the Health Ministry said within the same 24-hour period, there were six fatalities, bringing the death toll to 1,159.
Another 3,275 patients were discharged from medical facilities around the country, which means 286,904 people have recovered from the disease.
In total there are 22,034 active cases nationwide.
From this number, 184 are in intensive care units, with 87 requiring ventilation support.
