Penang school takes lead in using drive-thru RFID system to smoothen traffic flow

IN an initiative to ease traffic congestion, a primary school in Gottlieb Road, Penang, is starting a ‘drive-thru pickup’ system using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.
The school’s parent-teacher association (PTA) treasurer Dennis Sin said the system, which is expected to be up and running next month, would be used by parents who pick up and drop off their children at the school.
